Welcome back to the Autumn Term

The children have made a fantastic start to their second half term of the Autumn Term. We continue to be very impressed by the energy and work of our Starfish and Dolphins.

We have an exciting half term ahead . Our Topic this term is ‘Do all Heroes wear Capes?’and History is our focus, which links in well with our English learning. This got off to a flying start with a visit from Florence Nightingale who helped the children act out, sing and explore some of the important work she did,

To help us explore our topic we will be reading Traction Man by Mini Grey and writing our own stories.

We are also extremely excited as the second half term of Autumn means that that the children will be practising for their Christmas Show and we are hoping parents and friends will be able to join us on the day. Details will be shared about this shortly, so please keep checking the website.

Thank you to all those that could make it to our parents evening. For all those that were unable to attend, we will be contacting you shortly to speak to you about your child’s progress.

Reading at home is an important part of supporting your child and the Reading Raffle will continue this half term. Please keep reading with your children and writing in their reading records to give them a chance of winning a prize.

If you have any concerns, please speak to your child’s class teacher on the door or make an appointment at the office.

We are very much looking forward to another  positive and exciting term ahead.

Welcome to Year One

The children have made a fantastic start to Year One. We have been very impressed with our new Dolphins and Starfish, all looking super smart in their new uniforms.

We have an exciting half term ahead with a Geography and Science focus, which links in well with our English learning. This got off to a flying start with our hook, visiting our forest school area and choosing our very own stick, just like Stanley in our text, Stanley Stick.

See photos in the image gallery, please click here.

We are also extremely lucky to be taking part in fresh air club every Monday, on alternate week per class. Dolphins made a great start this week, building their own shelters and learning how to work together as a team.

Thank you to all those that could make it to our parent meeting. For all those that were unable to attend, you can find the slides of our presentation on the website.

If you have any concerns, please speak to your child’s class teacher on the door or make an appointment at the office.

We are very much looking forward to a positive and exciting term ahead.
