Jewell, the heart of the community

Friendship and acceptance are values that sit at the core of Jewell Academy and we pride ourselves on being at the heart of the community we serve. Dr Jeffery Quaye, National Director of Education and Standards for Aspirations Academies Trust, has high praise for the school: “Jewell Academy provides high quality education in an environment where pupils feel valued and inspired with new, rich, and challenging learning opportunities. Teachers have high standards for both pupils’ learning and behaviour.” We look forward to welcoming you to Jewell Academy! Principal Alexandra Waddington.

Our School

No Limits Curriculum

Jewell Academy is part of the Aspirations Academies Trust. In addition to following the Government’s National Curriculum and achieving all milestones set, students at Aspirations schools also complete The No Limits Curriculum. This is unique to all schools in the trust. It involves Applied Transdisciplinary Learning: students apply what they have learnt in the classroom to real-world projects that cross subject disciplines. It is an approach that prepares young people for success in today’s world. The academic prowess of gifted and talented pupils is nurtured at Jewell & a handful successfully pass the 11+ entrance exam each year.

Our Curriculum

Reception & Pre-School

Our highly effective Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum provides a broad range of inspiring and engaging learning opportunities to ensure children make the best start to their learning journey at Jewell Academy. Our large Early Years environment is well resourced and includes: two large airy classrooms, a shared base area showcasing our Early Years Library and an enclosed garden space. We have recently developed our outside area to include an integrated water and pebble play space and a large bespoke wooden play trail. The garden also includes a growing area and lots of opportunities for sand and water play as well as physical activities such as a mud kitchen and bikes and trikes trail. Our curriculum offer also includes a range of inspiring visitors and trips to complement learning, provide real-life experiences and raising cultural capital. From day one, children are immersed in a language-rich environment which encourages a love for reading and supports children to use high quality vocabulary. Places are currently available, Sept 2023 start. Please email: office@jewell-aspirations.org for more information.
