Intent

At Jewell Academy, we recognise the importance of PE and the role it has to play in promoting long term, healthy and active lifestyles. The intent of our PE curriculum is to provide all children with high quality PE, sport provision and opportunities. We strive for every pupil to succeed and achieve their full potential in all forms of physical education and sport. We passionately inspire our pupils through active and engaging PE lessons that are enjoyable, challenging and accessible to all. At Jewell, we are committed to providing our learners with lifelong skills and strategies, both in and out of lessons, to be able to understand and appreciate the benefits of a healthy and physically active lifestyle. In addition, we provide opportunities for all pupils to develop key values and transferable life skills to grow into respectful members of the school and community.

implementation

Children at Jewell Academy have many opportunities to be physically active every week. PE is carefully timetabled to make the best use of our fantastic outdoor space and facilities as well as to ensure a progressive sequence of lessons are followed. To help us achieve this, our teachers follow the LTPE scheme of work.
